The New eShop System

As some of you have no doubt noticed, we have switched to a new product delivery system for our e-publications. Now you get a 'my files' area from which you can download what you buy. After a while, the files expire, but until they do, you can download as often as you like...

So that's what's supposed to happen, we think...

We get a bit nervous and cynical sometimes. Perhaps you could reassure us from time to time that everything is working properly. Certainly, we have tested the system thoroughly, but (being nervous and cynical) it would be nice to get some calming reassurance...

The whole point of the the switch was to make this a happier and friendlier system. Tell us if it's working.

So the files in 'my files' expire eh? That should be somewhat more explicit in your documentation, 'cause I missed it the first time around. What is the expiry time on the downloads so that next time I don't get into the jam I am currently in? (Though now I am starting to remember something in the email that I can't find about this expiring thing... hmmm, this one might be on me actually).

Also, how often are the web/technical support people online and how often do they check the Kelestia email account. I am not complaining, I'm just asking so that I can get a sense of expectation for when to expect a response to my email queries. I'm new to Harn and Kelestia and am trying to get a handle on things. Once again, just asking for information not to stir trouble.

What do you mean the files "expire" ?

When we changed the system, the old files were no longer available, but as far as I am aware, current files are still available.

I don't recall any email from you regarding any issues... have you sent one?

Now, I'm confused again. When you purchase a file from Kelestia, does it have an expiry date as suggested by Robin at the beginning of this thread?

Yes I did drop an email and you have answered it very thoughtfully. I appreciate the assistance, but still don't feel I have a handle on your system policy, which I want to have 'cause I want that interactive map! If you can clear it up for me, I'll be set.

Robin's post at the top of this thread applies to when the webshop software was changed a year ago.

It was changed again about three months ago, around Sep 1, and is much better than the old.

I can't answer as to whether the new system has file download expirations or not. Only Fastred, Ken or Jan would know that.

Thanks RBS, I think that about covers it for me then. Fastred said in his post that they don't expire. Outstanding site and wow... I can't believe that I didn't discover Harn sooner.
