Did Kethira ever have a culture similar to the Spartans? I hasten to add that I am not some "300" inspired Spartan fanboy. Rather, I have an idea for an adventure in the vein of greek myth and I'm looking for some antagonists and Spartan-types seem like a good match.
I bought the Kethira pdf and, judging from that, I would assume such a culture would be one of the Karuia states since they seem to be the most similar to the ancient Greeks.(Geographically, anyway)
The Byrians
The closest group are the Byrians.... and they are not men, but women. But their culture is very militaristic and "spartan".
