39 pages (maps plus indices)

The Chélemby-Géltheim folio of Atlas Keléstia map squares was originally published in 2004. The map squares are rendered in a different style than in the issues published in the several issues of Atlas Keléstia which have been released in 2011 and do not include PDF layering.

Purchase of this folio entitles the buyer to both the original 2004 folio and also to the revised versions of these maps as they are re-published. (This offer extends retroactively to anyone who purchased this folio after September 2008.) So far, three of the eight map squares — E6, F6 and H5 — have been revised and re-published; the others will follow in the coming months.

The finest atlas maps of Kethîra ever made. Now the first in what we expect to be a long series of modules. High-resolution vegetation and relief maps with detailed geographical features, towns, castles, keeps, villages, sites, landmarks… in short, more detail than we have ever before put on atlas maps. Complete with comprehensive indices (almost 400 entries) for every named feature on the maps.

Kingdoms and regions detailed in this folio include the Kingdom of Chélemby; the Hârbáaler Kingdoms of Géltheim and Ánvâl; the Thranaál of Tázela in the Hârbáaler Kingdom of Tónanby; and a range of islands off the Hârbáaler coast, including Chel Øy, Téchel Øy, Trévechel Øy, and the Ljârl, Skîvaal, and Trevéhedè Øyen.

Special Bonus: As a special treat, we are including a consolidated spreadsheet (database) of all the features in the folio. To view this file you will need Microsoft Excel (TM) or the free Excel Viewer (available from Microsoft). To view/print the main file, you will need the Adobe Acrobat Viewer (TM) Available from Adobe.

Grid Squares

This folio covers eight map sections (grid squares), each of which is 625 square leagues, 10,000 square km, or 3,900 square miles. Several of the grids are mostly water. (One is entirely water… except for the horrendous sea monster lurking beneath the waves).

All squares in this folio appear on the Shôrkýnè (SHKN) regional map. The squares included are: E5 Baas, E6 Skîvaal, F5 Trevehédè, F6 Téchel, G5 Yelâben, G6 Chélemby, H5 Tázela, and H6 Vârkenheim

Printing Notes

The atlas maps are 20cm square. This means that on a sheet of letter-size paper (we recommend light cardstock), the map pages should have 8mm (5/16 inch) margins on the left and right. If your printer cannot print this close to the edges of the page, you might want to consider the 'fit to page' option; this will reduce the size and scale of the map (slightly) but the quality of the print should be just as good. A4 size paper/cardstock is longer, but slightly narrower.

Please note that inkjet printers especially are not particularly economical (and there is nothing anyone can do to make them economical) when it comes to printing highly 'saturated' pages, like these maps. The non-map pages may be printed in Black & White if desired.

Tip: if you print a set of the map pages only, and cut out the actual (20cm) maps, they should fit together to make an attractive 80cm x 20cm wall map. As Atlas Keléstia is expanded, you can add more grids and, before too long, you may need a bigger wall.

Please note. Because the eight map pages should be printed 'single sided' and because the indices are arranged by grid square for convenient reference, there are fifteen blank pages in the document (and thirty-nine with 'stuff' on them for a total of fifty-four pages). You are not being charged for the blank pages, they are being provided as a free service.
